Britain, Iran, the “art” of forgetting, etc

More bad news from Britain. And censorship in Iran, particularly over religious issues, is hardly a surprise.

(I originally read both pieces in the TOI, but that newspaper loves playing Pac Man with news items. Hence the Reuters links.)

The paper, as is its practice, quotes William James on “forgetting”-

In the practical use of our intellect, forgetting is as important as remembering.

and weaves a 26/11 editorial around it.

What really fits James’ truism, however, is Doyle’s classic, “A Study in Scarlet.” Holmes, Watson, Copernicus and the science of deduction.
