A reaction from the Navy Chief

I haven’t watched much television over the last couple of days; haven’t read yesterday’s newspapers either. So K’s posts on the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Sureesh Mehta taking the media to task – this and this – informed me about a few things I wasn’t aware of. Mehta has said that the minute-by-minute coverage of the Bombay carnage put many lives at risk and that it reminded him of a “famous shot” during the Kargil War and a particular woman reporter. Read them both, and also follow the Hindu story K has linked to in the second post.
