Salve on the Indian Criminal Justice System

    Yes I tend to aggree…otherwise how can a person convicted by he supreme court for death sentence be allowed to seek clemency from the president

      That is a normal practice in all civilized countries – sometimes, courts may be forced to award the death penalty because of the laws in place, but the accused may not deserve it. A presidential pardon is a way out of such tricky situations, and is usually used only in rare cases.

      I agree with Salve because of cases like these.

    I can’t say that I disagree with Salve, but on the whole I think the judiciary in India is significantly better than the politicians, especially when it comes to issues like protecting rights. I am not saying they are good or even ok, simply that they are a wee bit less wrong in the positions they take.
